Viljem Haris Topcic

MD, PHD Consultant Plastic Surgeon

Vilijem graduated from the Ljubljana Faculty of Medicine in 2005 before volunteering at the Department of Plastic, Reconstruction, and Cosmetic Surgery at the Ljubljana University Medical Center from 2001 to 2002 and at the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery between 2003 and 2005.

In January 2006, he joined Assist. Prof. Dr. Gregorič at the Department for Cardiology in Houston at the Texas Heart Institute at St. Lukes’ Episcopal Hospital. He enhanced his expertise through working at the Department of Plastic Surgery and Burns.

Specialization in General Surgery

He completed his specialization in general surgery in 2014. In 2016, he completed his specialization in plastic, reconstruction, and cosmetic surgery. Under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. Borut Geršak, he concluded his research thesis entitled Influence of Some Factors on Intra-Operatively Measured Flow and Pulsatility Index of Coronary Bypass Arteries. He was awarded the title Doctor of Science.

In 2016, he concluded a European specialist exam in Brussels and was awarded the title Fellow of the European Board of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery. In the same year, he also became a cosmetic surgery assistant.

Joining the Elanic Team

Dr. Topcic once worked at the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery and Burns in UKC Ljubljana but joined our private practice last year to perform cosmetic corrections on the face, breasts, and body, as well as non-invasive procedures. He is the first and, at the moment, also the only surgeon in Slovenia to perform hair transplantations as the top-notch specialist for the most modern FUE method.

Vilijem believes that high-quality services must be guaranteed through constant education, so he regularly attends congresses and actively collaborates with colleagues from Slovenia and abroad, sharing the knowledge and technologies gained in his outpatient clinic.

In order to bring attention to cosmetic surgery, make it affordable to every interested individual, and dispel the numerous misconceptions and taboos about the topic, he regularly publishes his results on different social media platforms and writes articles for various publications.

He believes that every successful cosmetic procedure is based on a natural appearance, adjusted to every individual with the help of the most cutting-edge equipment. He uses humor and good-heartedness to make sure his patients are eager to return to this practice.
