Love Your Tight, Contoured Tummy

Tummy Tuck surgery is ideal for those who have sagging, stretched skin and excess tissue around the stomach, which can often occur as a result of pregnancy or after significant weight loss.

There are several different types of tummy tuck that can be performed, giving us the ability to tailor your procedure to the degree of excess skin and tissue that you wish to see removed.  During your in-person consultation with a highly experienced member of the Elanic surgical staff, your surgeon will get to know your goals and body type, recommending a surgical method that will most effectively bring you in line with your preferred cosmetic outcome. To learn more, reach out to our specially trained team in our Glasgow Clinic and set up your consultation with a member of our world-class staff today.

The Ideal Tummy Tuck Candidate

When you visit us, your journey will start with a consultation, during which we'll get to know your personal goals and help you find the treatment that is suitable for you. We typically find that ideal tummy tuck candidates have recently undergone changes to their body, including pregnancy or weight loss.

You are most likely to benefit from a tummy tuck if you:

  • Have reached and can maintain your ideal body weight
  • Have been overweight in the past but have lost and stabilised your weight
  • Have suffered from a separation of the stomach muscles due to muscle strain and/or pregnancy

Is a Tummy Tuck Suitable for Me?

With a tummy tuck, our specialist cosmetic surgeons will remove the extra skin and fat from your lower abdomen, leaving you with a flatter, more defined stomach. Liposuction is often used in conjunction with this surgery to further improve the contours of the abdomen, waist, and hips. This procedure will be done under a general anaesthetic, takes around two hours, and will involve an overnight stay in one of our private partner hospitals.

At Elanic, we pride ourselves on our uniquely patient-centric approach to cosmetic surgery. We take the time to not only get to know our patients, but the unique cosmetic goals they’ve brought with them to our practice, as well. During your consultation, we’ll work with you to develop a treatment plan that is customised to your needs, ensuring that you’re able to enjoy the outcome you’ve envisioned. What is the Cost of a Tummy Tuck?

The cost of your tummy tuck will depend on the type of tummy tuck you receive and how extensive the complexity of the procedure must be to achieve your aesthetic goals. During your consultation, we will examine your abdominal area and determine the details of your required procedure. Depending on the complexity of the procedure, the price begins at £5995.

Alternative Tummy Tuck Options

We frequently combine the tummy tuck with 360 liposuction, to craft a more shapely figure for the patient. Abdominoplasty can also be performed to improve scars or bulges resulting from a hysterectomy or cesarian abdominal procedures. Elanic also offers a “tummy tuck bundle,” which combines a mini-abdominoplasty with Smart Liposuction applied to three different areas, resulting in impressive body contouring results.

Recovery After Your Tummy Tuck

Recovery from a tummy tuck varies from person to person, but every patient should arrange to have someone pick them up after their procedure. It's also best to have someone at home to assist you in the days following your surgery.

Immediately after surgery, your abdomen will feel tight and swollen and you will not be able to stand fully straight in the first few days following your procedure. As with any surgery, you will experience some swelling and bruising, which will begin to subside within four to six weeks.

Depending on your occupation, you may be able to return to work around three weeks following your procedure, with your full recovery taking about six weeks. Heavy activity, abdominal exercises, and lifting anything of moderate weight should be avoided throughout this period.

What Are the Scars Like?

When the skin and fat of the lower abdomen are removed, a scar will be left along the panty-line in most cases. Occasionally, a scar may rise higher if an improved waist is required. A small scar may also be left around the belly button.

These scars will initially be red in appearance but tend to fade over the course of the first year. Our expert surgeons utilise the latest techniques and an aftercare procedure that works to ensure minimal scarring. During your consultation, we’ll help you understand what you can expect in terms of post-surgical scarring.
