Former EastEnders’ actress Danniella Westbrook has revealed she is planning to have cosmetic surgery to improve her appearance after spending a long time dealing with her inner demons.
The actress has endured a much-publicised history of drug abuse and says that she has now rebuilt ‘on the inside’ and feels the time is right to address her external appearance in a bid to improve the self-confidence that she says has been ‘destroyed’.
Danniella spoke frankly during an interview with Reveal magazine, saying that her drug habit had led to ageing and left her feeling old even though she did not care about being 41.
She admitted that she didn’t worry at all about her appearance in her younger years but said years of ‘bullying’ as a result of newspaper pictures had led to a complete erosion of her confidence.
It is not the first time that the actress has opted for cosmetic surgery, however. She had her breasts enlarged when she was 24 and famously had her cocaine-ravaged nose rebuilt.
She is now planning a series of cosmetic procedures including a change of breast implants and a breast lift, dental work, and facial surgery. Her cosmetic surgery journey will be documented for a new reality TV series, it is believed.
Danniella rose to the heady heights of fame in the 1990s when she took up the role of EastEnders’ Sam Mitchell, the younger sister of the infamous Mitchell brothers.
She finally left the soap completely in 2010 and had been due to return to television this year as a cast member in Hollyoaks but decided against the move. She was also rumoured to be destined for a place in the Celebrity Big Brother house but this did not go ahead.
Danniella says she has now reached a turning point in her personal life and has given up drugs, visits a counsellor and has a personal trainer. She says she wants to improve her appearance for herself and put recent setbacks, including a return to cocaine use in August 2014, behind her.
Daniella believes that the cosmetic surgery procedures she is planning will complete the ‘rebuilding’ of both her inner and outer self, helping her to undo the psychological damage caused by decades spent living in the media spotlight.
Elsewhere in the land of celebrity, pop star Iggy Azalea has been pictured making regular trips to a Beverly Hills cosmetic surgery centre in America.
The clinic carries out procedures ranging from liposuction to Botox but it is believed that Iggy is having treatment to remove tattoos on three of her fingers. The tattoos were dedicated to rapper A$AP Rocky, the singer’s ex-boyfriend.
It is thought that the singer has decided to complete a course of laser treatment to remove the tattoos after getting engaged to current flame Nick Young.
The star initially sparked rumours about her tattoo removal after being spotted leaving the clinic with plasters around her fingers.
