It is no shock that many celebrities choose cosmetic surgery as a means of maintaining their youthful looks or improving features that they don’t like, but it can still come as a surprise when stars are open and honest about the work they have had done.

Opting for cosmetic surgery is fast-becoming an achievement rather than something to be ashamed of amongst the general population, and more and more celebrities are now happy to speak out about the obvious changes to their appearance and the help they have had in maintaining or providing their chosen appearance.

Here is our look, then, at just some of the stars who have openly admitted having surgery, forging the way for many others to do the same in the future.

Celebs Speak Out on Cosmetic SurgeryModern Family actress Ariel Winter spoke of her breast reduction procedure during an interview conducted by Glamour magazine. She admitted that she suffered neck and back pain before her surgery and had spinal problems but, after undergoing the procedure, she simply feels ‘amazing’. Her doctor told her before the surgery that her back would really appreciate what she was doing.

Pop star Iggy Azalea told Vogue about having breast augmentation surgery and has also spoken about having rhinoplasty. She said that cosmetic surgery gave her the opportunity to change things about herself that she didn’t like.

Fitness guru Julian Michaels underwent rhinoplasty at the age of 16 and admits that it changed her life for the better.

Friends’ actress Lisa Kudrow had a rhinoplasty whilst she was at high school and has spoken freely about how ‘good, good, good’ the resulting change was.

Just like many women, actress Jane Seymour chose to have cosmetic surgery after she became a mum. She opted for a breast augmentation to undo the effects of breast feeding and pregnancy.

Celebs Speak Out on Cosmetic SurgeryThe Middle actress Betty White underwent an eye lift to turn back the hands of time and later had a breast reduction. She also had a tummy tuck after being left with ‘a world map’ on her stomach following four caesarean sections and sagging breasts as a result of breastfeeding.

Singer Kelly Rowland admits that she spent a long time deciding to have a breast augmentation procedure but is very pleased with the results. She says she first wanted breast implants at the age of 18 but her mum, and the mum of fellow superstar Beyoncé, told her to spend longer thinking about it. Ten years later, Kelly remained convinced that breast augmentation was the right thing for her.

X-Factor star Sharon Osborne has never been backwards in coming forwards – so it is no surprise that her tales of cosmetic surgery have been more than forthcoming. The first lady of television talent shows admits to having undergone a wide variety of procedures, ranging from leg and arm lifts and a tummy tuck to a neck lift and a breast reduction.
