VASER represents the single biggest leap in Liposuction technology since liposuction was invented. By using a special ultrasonic wand the fat in the area to be treated can be broken up, allowing for much better removal using suction. Also, the technique is so controllable that small areas such as the neck can be treated, as well as larger areas such as the stomach and thighs. As the fat is liquified in the process any fat which is not sucked out is later dissolved by the by the body so that the results continue to improve for up to 6 months.

The VASER treatment is much less traumatic than traditional Liposuction and can therefore be carried out as an outpatient with local anaesthetic injections and possibly some sedation.

Who is suitable for VASER?

Anyone suitable for traditional liposuction should be suitable for VASER. When you are born you have a distribution of fat cells within the body. This distribution is fixed and does not change. When you put on weight the actual cells get bigger, rather than making any more cells. The distibution of the cells in the body is what gives you your body shape, whether it be apple shape, pear shape etc. By using liposuction excess fat cells can be removed so that your body shape is changed. Then if you put on weight or lose weight it will be more even throughout the body.

What are the advantages of VASER?

With vaser the fat cells are liquified by the ultrasonic beam. This means the fat removal is much more gentle than with normal liposuction. The removal is more even and the skin is tightened by the heating of the cells. Also, some of the melted fat is not removed and this is absorped by the body over the next few weeks to improve the results of the procedure. I will no longer do traditional liposuction outside of the NHS as i believe the results of vaser are far better than i can achieve through tradional liposuction.

Where can be treated?

The most common areas treated with VASER are the tummy, buttocks, neck, gynaecomastia (Man Boobs), saddle bags and thighs although almost any area of fat can be treated.

What can I expect?

The treatment usually takes about 1-3 hours to be carried out, depending upon how big an area is being treated. In many cases a we will give you some sedation to make the process more comfortable. For this reason you should be fully fasted for 6 hours before the procedure. The initial stage requires an injection of local anaesthetic to the area being treated, followed by the fat dissolving stage. This usually takes half and hour or so. After this the fat is removed using a gentle liposuction maching which is much more comfortable than the traditional manual pumping device. After the procedure you will put on your compression garment to wear. This most be worn for a minimum of 6 weeks, just being taken off for showering. This compression garment helps the skin to shrink after the removal of the underlying fat.

How much does it cost?

Treatment prices start at £1295 for a single large area.

Number of areas Small area (no sedation) One (sedation) Two Three Four Five
